Judge Richard Distillery is named after our family patriarch and is the result of generations of perseverance, deep family roots, and a passion for a damn good pour.
We honor Nathaniel Richardson, better known as Judge Richard, a Virginia-born settler whose journey took him through three decades in Kentucky before heading west and ultimately becoming a respected judge in Missouri. His pioneering spirit didn’t stop there. It carried forward through seven generations of Richardsons and lives on in every bottle we craft today.
Judge Richard spirits celebrate legacy, craftsmanship, and the determination that helped build communities from the ground up. We’re proud to put Carson, Iowa on the map as the first bourbon distillery in Pottawattamie County, proof that great whisky, and even greater stories, can come from unexpected places.
This is where family roots run deep, craftsmanship runs strong, and heritage is poured into every sip.
